How to make a backup using the Samsung SH-D162C drive
DOWNLOAD THE Mini chip_MAKEBACKUP package by clicking here.
Go to your local PC-Store and buy yourself a SAMSUNG SH-D162C DVD drive which shouldn't cost more than 50 US$.
After flashing the modified firmware which is included in this package you will be able to dump XBox360 games to your PC.
All actions have to be executed inside of the same folder where our files are located.
Also all files which are being created, downloaded or saved must be located in the same folder (Mini_chip_makebackup).
Make sure to have at least 20GB of free space here.

1) Flash SAMSUNG SH-D162C hacked Firmware:

- make sure there is no CD/DVD inside of the drive!!!
- start (doubleclick) sfdnwin.exe
- select drive from pulldownmenu: TSSTcorpDVD-ROM SH-D162CTS04
- at the top left click "DOWNLOAD FILE OPEN"
- select file: SH-D162C_TS04_XB360_KREON_V060.bin
- at the top left click "START DOWNLOAD" (button in the middle)
After successfully flashing the drive you will receive the message: "DOWNLOAD OK!! RESTART WINDOWS."
Now reboot your PC and you're done flashing the firmware.

2) create iso from an original game:

Download ISOBuster (http://www.isobuster.com/dl.php?v=1&l=0) install and execute it.
at the top left select the Samsung drive from the pulldownmenu (TSSTcorpDVD-ROM SH-D162CTS04)
in the left tab at the top (directly under the pulldownmenu from which you can select the drive) click "DVD" using
the right mousebutton - right beneath click "extract dvd <content>" - right beneath click "extract userdata (*.tao *.iso *.wav)"
Now select our working folder to save the iso there.
Depending on which version of ISOBuster you are using you can enter a name for the iso.
The name of the iso must be "tmpgame.iso"
For the the following errormessage do like this: click "fill with zeroes" and activate "always choose selection".
Now click "Select" to continue creating the iso.
The progress bar sits at 0% for around 5 minutes and then slowly goes up to 100%.
Get rid of the final message "Error(s) occured while reading" with a mouseclick on "NO"
Finally ISOBuster creates a .cue file which we won't need in our further progress.
In case you couldn't enter a name for the iso file you now have to rename it to "tmpgame.iso" even if it's a .tao
file you can rename it to .iso without problems. if not already happened move it to our working folder "Mini_chip_makebackup"

3) patch ISO to make it compatible to the mini chip:

We need to find the SecuritySector (SS) of our game. You can find it for example here
"http://www.ubclass.org/X360SS/sslist.htm" or here "http://pspsaves.info/inf/index.php?page=1".
CAUTION!!!! Of each game there are several versions e.g. USA, JAP, PAL UK, PAL German or PAL multilanguage and so on...
We need the exact matching SS for our version we made the iso from.
Save the SS File in our working folder.
In case you are not 100% sure you found the correct SS then you don't need to make a backup of your clean ISO
because you can always patch another SS into your already patched ISO using the Mini aSSociat0r.
Start the Mini aSSociat0r.
Select the ISO File
Select the SS File
Hit "CREATE" button
Your ISO is now being patched. this takes just 2 seconds.
After patching it must be exactly 7.705.657.344 Bytes of size. (in KB it is 7.525.056)

4) Burn the ISO

Download IMGBurn (http://www.imgburn.com), install and execute.
At first we have to enter the layerbreak information manually. This has to be done only once because IMGBurn
will save this setting and use it for ever untill you change it again:
TOOLS - SETTINGS - WRITE - Options (top right) - mark "User specified" - enter thevalue "1913760" into
the field below. Confirm with "OK".
Back to the mainscreen of IMGburn there is a small icon in the lower right corner which looks like a book.
Click this icon with your left mousebutton and we will be able to change the booktype manually.
A new window opens which lists several DVD writers. Choose your dvd writer and enter the following settings:
"Change for:" "Drive (For DVD+R DL Media)" below "New Setting:" "DVD+R DL"
click "Change" with your left mousebutton and confirm the message "SUCCESS" by clicking "OK".
Hit the "OK" button to get back to the mainscreen where you can select the iso by clicking the small folder
icon besides "please select a file...".
Choose your "game.iso" file.
Preferably change the writing speed to the speed of your media. Never write faster than your media can handle
it because you could make it a coaster. Disable "Test-Mode" and "Verifiy"
Finally insert your DVD+R DL media and press the big button to start burning.

Sidenote:

If your Xbox360 is equipped with a Hitachi drive then you don't have to change the booktype necessarily as this
one can handle the booktypes DVD+R DL and DVD-R. For Samsung drive the booktype MUST be set to DVD+R DL.
Anyway we suggest to always change the booktype to DVD+R DL because what if you are going to take your legit
backup to your friend to play it there and his Xbox360 is equipped with a samsung drive? It won't work there.
And this is one of the main reasons to create a backup, to not to carry your expensive original game around with you
and possibly damage it...

CONVERTING AN XTREME IMAGE TO MAKE IT WORK WITH THE MINI MODCHIPTo convert an Xtreme game image to an image for use with mini modchip follow these easy steps:
Start MINI aSSociat0r
Select the Xtreme ISO File
activate "Extract Security Sector from Xtreme ISO file"
This will extract the Security Sector from the Xtreme Image and merge it to the correct offset for
use with the NME-360 modchip.
The final GAME.ISO size must be 7.705.657.344 bytes (in KB it is 7.525.056).
Burn the ISO using IMGburn like desscribed above.
The Samsung chip only works with discs burned as DVD+R DL.
The Hitachi chip works with booktypes DVD-ROM and DVD+R DL.
